Smile – Dental Health Month!
The countdown is here, and we’ve done everything we can to prepare. February 1st marks the beginning of Dental Health month, our own kind of March Madness. We still worry about dental care the rest of the year, but this season it gets our full attention. When the dust settles, we can all sit back, take a deep breath, and realize we don’t smell the dog’s breath any more! All joking aside, the reality is that 2 out of 3 cats and dogs have dental disease. Dental disease causes pain, infection, organ dysfunction, and weight loss, not to mention bad breath. Most of this goes unnoticed, hiding until the problems are serious. If Dental Month caused every single pet owner to take a real look at their pet’s teeth, it would be a success. All you have to do is pull the lips back. Brown tartar build-up, red gums or bad breath are all a sign it’s time for a cleaning. If you can’t get a good look, we would be happy to show you and give our free, honest opinion on whether it’s time.
Our goal with dental care is to prevent problems if possible, but deal with the one’s that sneak up on us. I’ve promised to keep our newsletters helpful, not a sales pitch. But for this I bend the rule just because people have been so supportive of Dental Month. Our incentive to you during February (and March) is a 15% discount, which amounts to a $30-40 savings for most people.
